Tuesday Morning Fly By: We got him

*While the rest of the league was busy making a bunch of (mostly) nutty free agent signings, the Flyers were getting the biggest signing of the day done: Matvei Michkov’s ELC. [BSH]

*Flyers fans were, as usual, totally chill about this news. [NBC Sports Philly]

*It’s kind of a big deal! We should not be chill about it! [Flyers]

*Danny Briere made a couple of other moves yesterday, albeit neither of them very exciting. First up was Erik Johnson, who signed on for another season. [BSH]

*Johnson is taking the place of Marc Staal as the 7th and as the storied veteran who can help develop the Flyers’ young defense corps. If you’re a subscriber over at Charlie’s website, he’s got a full breakdown of the whys of this deal. [PHLY]

*The other deal Danny made was with Garnet Hathaway, who earned himself another couple of years on the Flyers’ 4th line. [BSH]

*As with anything else, we must assess the winners and the losers of today’s silliness. [TSN]

*If you’re still paying the New York Times, The Athletic’s free agency tracker is pretty handy for keeping track of who’s gone where and who’s still left. [The Athletic]

*Related, we’ve worked out a list of the low-stakes reclamation project-type players that are available this Summer that may be of interest to the Flyers. [BSH]

*We got the Dev Camp roster yesterday. If you’ve never popped over to Voorhees to check out a Dev Camp sesh, you should. It’s a good time. [BSH]

*Notably missing from the roster are Matvei Michkov (expected) and Alexei Kolosov (sus). [Inquirer]

*And finally, let’s take a step back and assess how the current state of the Metro Division is going to affect the Flyers. [BSH]
